Round, golden, thick cookie (called a "palet" in French) with a good taste of butter with the inscription "1888" on the top.  These are a great classic Breton pastries, the palet, with its delicate texture, that is ideal for a snack or to accompany a coffee.

Compared to the crispier and thinner galettes bretonnes, the palets contain more butter and no egg white, only egg yolk.  These melt-in-the-mouth biscuits with a good buttery taste still delight all generations today.

About Biscuiterie La Mère Poulard
In a market where brands compete with invention and modernization, the biscuit (cookie) factory La Mère Poulard is famous for good taste associated with simple (basic) and real products.  Always respecting tradition, their traditional and authentic recipes from 1888 along with their authentic packaging, recall the roots of and the world of the biscuits.

In 1888, Annette and Victor Poulard opened their famous inn on Mont-Saint-Michel, France. (In the late 19th century, the Normandy coast was the equivalent of today's Côte d'Azur.) During her long career - almost forty years behind the stove - she developed numerous recipes, including the famous omelette, which she prepared over the flames of her large fireplace. Her talent, kindness, natural generosity and legendary hospitality have made her a symbol of French culinary tradition.
