Monet Coasters. These coasters from the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection feature details from Monet's The Four Trees (1891), Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies(1899), The Parc Monceau (1878), and View of Vétheuil (1880).
Claude Monet was a key figure in the Impressionist movement that transformed French painting in the second half of the nineteenth century. As part of his extensive gardening plans at Giverny, Monet had a pond dug and planted with lilies in 1893. He painted the subject in 1899, and thereafter it dominated his art.
