Tudor Rose Hand-Beaded Clutch Bag, St. Xavier, MMA
"Tudor Rose" Copper Beaded Clutch Bag
This richly beaded bag features a Tudor rose from a late 15th- to mid-16th-century silk velvet hanging in The Met collection. The exclusive handmade bag was produced in collaboration with St. Xavier and comes with a protective cotton bag for storage.
An English national emblem, the five-petal rose was adopted after Henry Tudor married Elizabeth of York in 1486 and ascended the throne as King Henry VII. The Lancaster red rose combined with the York white rose symbolized the unification of their warring houses.
