Louis C. Tiffany, "Garden Landscape" Cotton Towel. Graceful swans glide on a shimmering pool under towering cypress trees in this mosaic masterwork from The Metropolitan Museum of Art—translated into an elegant 100% cotton tea towel that you can add to your home decor.
Trimmed in white trim (please note - image shows the color pink, this is incorrect - the towel trim is white).
Shown in a detail on this tea towel, the extraordinary Garden Landscape by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) is one of the highlights of the American Wing at The Met. Garden Landscape (ca. 1905–15) was displayed in the Tiffany Studios showrooms until 1938.
The Gilded Age master began experimenting with iridescent and transparent tesserae in the 1880s, inspired by Byzantine mosaics he had seen abroad, and he used glass mosaics in many interiors, from churches to department stores.
