"Tapestry Garden" Oblong Silk Scarf.
This pretty silk-satin oblong scarf recalls the lush botanical background of the Lewknor table carpet, a magnificent tapestry-woven ceremonial table carpet in The Met collection.
Matching lacquer picture frame available.
The original tapestry was commissioned from Flemish weavers in 1564 by a member of the Lewknor family, an established English noble family. Its design includes strawberry plants, daisies, cowslip, roses, lilies, blueberries, and cherries. The carpet was passed down through the Lewknor family for nearly four centuries.
