This museum coaster set nods to one of the most revelatory innovations in the global history of ceramics.
An homage to this classic color palette, each coaster features a detail from a different blue-and-white ceramic treasure in The Met collection: an earthenware tile (ca. 1875) designed by Christopher Dresser (British, 1834–1904) and manufactured by Minton(s) (British, 1793–present), a Chinese platter and rack (1800–1830), a dish with a scene of tea cultivation crafted in China around 1740–45 for the European market, and a late 17th-century Japanese dish with cranes.
