These serene ceramic "pintades" are hand-made at a small artisan studio and decorated in the town of Lussan, located in the south of France.  Each ceramic is individually made in an artisan studio, and hand painted in subtle colors, with tasteful accents. 

These quaint, serene guinea fowl or "pintades" are fabricated from clay and hand glazed.  This grand size measures approximately 9" from head to tail, and stands approximately 9.5" tall.

About Ceramiques de Lussan
"When art invites itself to the Henhouse".  Heidi Caillard studied fine art and ceramics from 1949-1962, and opened a small pottery workshop in 1968 in a village near Uzes, Southern France. Heidi developed a deep fondness for the little birds that ran around her garden and decided to create them in clay. As business thrived she moved her family to a larger farmhouse in Lussan, the picturesque walled medieval village in Provence. All their ceramics are hand made and hand painted to a very high standard and are much sought after all around the world.
