Joséphine (Josephine) Pouchette - The flowers woven on this pouchette / zippered case are based upon the upholstery fabrics of the Empress Josephine (1763-1814) in her home in Compiegne. The freshness of the colors, the delicateness of the peach blossoms, the variety of flowers and leaves used in the borders echo Josephine's passion for botany. The laurel is symbolic of the pageantry associated with her salon.
The horn of plenty forming a "J" in the middle of the pattern makes a double allusion to Josephine and to prosperity.
This jacquard zippered bag is woven in cotton, lined, with a tassel. Ideal for cosmetics. Matching pillow available.
