About the Lithograph
The Favorite Cat captures the alert gaze of a handsome tabby in a hand-colored lithograph by Nathaniel Currier (American, 1813–1888). Currier gained lasting fame as co-principal of Currier & Ives (with James Ives), renowned in the latter half of the nineteenth century for their wildly popular lithographic prints.
