About French Chèvre Cheese
Chèvre, the French word for goat cheese, is a bright, lactic treat that falls into a category all its own. It is primarily made in eight regions across the French countryside located South of the Loire River: Poitou-Charentes, Loire Valley, Burgundy, Rhone-Alps, Provence-Cote d'Azur, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees and Aquitaine. Originally produced in and around the central regions of France, traditional Chèvre is heavily influenced by the climate and pastures on which the goats graze.
