About the Design
The original clock was made in 1772 by Benjamin Willard of Roxbury, Massachusetts. Crafted of mahogany and cherry, this handsome clock is a characteristic example of the Willard brothers' collaborative work from about 1771–75 and is well documented. New England clockmakers revolutionized the industry in the early 19th century.
